Nintendo of Japan is has announce that it will be selling a version of the Switch without a dock. This is useful for people who either already have a Switch in the house, or people who simply don't want to use the Switch as a console, and instead want to use it as a portable system like the 3DS. The price of the dock-less Switch will come to 26,978 Yen, which is roughly $245.
Personally I hope they sell this in other parts of the world. My household already has a Switch, but getting one for more members of the family would be nice, and we only have a use for two docks. I'd love to see a version of the Switch that can be bought for $250 or less, and this seems like a good option.
If you're interested in buying the dock-less Switch, it's important to note that there is no region lock on the Switch. You might need something like Google Translate on your phone to help navigate the setup screen, but English is a language option even on foreign Switch consoles. Just keep in mind the difficulties that can come from shipping from another country, especially the price.
